Paul Burke has been practicing law since 1983 and has litigated civil matters across the United States. He has been rated as a Super Lawyer (ranked in the top 5% of lawyers in the state) since 2009. Beginning in 2008, he transitioned his practice from litigation to Creditors Rights, focusing on regulatory compliance and currently serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.
Mr. Burke earned his CPCU in 2001 which is a professional designation in property-casualty insurance and risk management held by just over 1% of those in the insurance industry. He has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyer in the area of insurance coverage and has received an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell for his high ethical standards and professionalism. Mr. Burke serves clients in sophisticated businesses throughout the United States. He helps clients navigate conflict resolution with his extensive experience in jury trials in both state and federal courts and appellate courts throughout the southeast. He has taken and defended hundreds of depositions and on several occasions, has served as an expert witness in insurance coverage litigation. Truck cargo litigation is another area of comprehensive knowledge. In addition to litigation, he has written and lectured on Carmack, COGSA and other cargo specific legislation as well as the insurance of cargo under the Inland Marine Coverage forms. In recent years he has gained particular experience in the credit industry, representing local, regional and international banks and financial institutions. This work includes programs designed to maximize recovery initiatives and provides secure compliance with regulatory agencies and risk management standards. He is a frequent speaker for the ABA and PLRB and has also presented across the country for the National Institute of Restoration for the building industry. |
